The Frank and Dort’s Westside Tourney is March 16-17 at Parkway Lanes. Shifts are Friday night at 7p.m. and Saturday at 1p.m. and 4p.m. Entry forms will be available at all three lanes in Fond du Lac or call Paula at 960-9684 and I will send or e-mail your team a form.
WOMEN’S SINGLES SCRATCH TOURNAMENT RESULTS
The 21st annual WOMEN’S SINGLES SCRATCH TOURNAMENT was held at Karl Ray Lanes the weekend of January 7th and 8th, a total of 65 bowlers. The Tournament is designed with three divisions, Division 1 for bowlers with a 190 average or higher; Division 2 for bowlers with a 160 to 189 average, and Division 3 for bowlers averaging 159 and under. Janis Birschbach, a 203 average bowler with a high 247 game, won Division 1 with a total 693 three game total. Second place was taken by Nicole Wagner rolling a 671 series. With a 178 average competing in Division 2, Mary Blumke rolled a 639 series also taking high game for her division with a 244 game. Sarah Luedtke rolling a 575 three game series took second for the Division. In Division 3, entering with a 144 average, Rosie Hernandez won the Division title rolling a 510 series with games of 210, 141 and 159. Kim Schneider followed in second place in Division 3 with her 496 series. The Tournament also features an Optional Doubles event, which bowlers may enter as many times as they like, but with different partners. Division 1 was won by Janis Birschbach and Amber Loberger with their 1350 Doubles total. Division 2 winners, Janis Birschbach and Sandy Hanson teamed up to win with a 1253 Total. Division 3 winners Donna Freund and Ann Gurno tied with Linda Trewin and Kim Schneider for honors with their 992 Doubles scores.
There were several really good scores and high games bowled during the tournament. Bowlers hitting 600 series are:

High Game awards were given out in each Division as well as for Most Pins Over Average in the bowlers 2nd game. Winners of the High Game awards – Division 1 – Lori Muentner – 257; Division 2 – Mary Blumke – 244; and Division 3 – Kim Schneider – 213. In Division 1, Laura Geiger rolled a 241 second game for a total of 50 pins over her 191 average; Donna Freund in Division 2 with a high 237 second game, rolled a total of 71 pins over her166 entering average; and in Division 3, Linda Marske’s 128 second game was 18 pins over her 110 entering average. Opening the tournament each year, a special pre-tournament competition is held each day sponsored by Norb’s Pro Shop of Fond du Lac. Each year certificates are awarded the winners who compete in knocking down pin counts until a winner is determined. Winners this year are Pat Smet and Courtney Zitlow. Congratulations go out to all our winners this year, and we hope to see all of the bowlers again next year.
