Fond du lac Bowling Association honors All-Star teams.

The Fond du Lac Bowling Association announced the 2007-08 Men’s All-Star team during its 26th Annual Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet.

The criteria for this year’s all-star team, which was honored in a ceremony recently at Ledgeview Center inside Ledgeview Lanes, stayed the same as last year.

Bowlers receive one point for each association tournament in which they took part. There were five association tournaments held this year.

Bowlers also received points based on if you won one of the association tournaments.

Bowlers also received points for various honor scores rolled throughout the year.

Eight points are awarded for every 800 series bowled, four points for each perfect game, three points for a 299 game, two points for a 298 game, and one point for each time a bowler rolls 11 strikes in-a-row for a 297 game or less.

Bowlers also receive points based upon highest single association average and composite averages from the past season.

The highest average and composite average receives 30 points, and points are awarded all the way down to 20th place in both categories with 20th place receiving 11 points.

This is the 46th year the FBA has selected an all-star team. This year the team consisted of one left-hander and four right-handers.

It took 79 points to make the top five and at least 46 points to make the top ten.

FBA HONORS MEN’S SENIOR ALL-STAR TEAM.

The Fond du Lac Bowling Association announced its 2007-08 Men’s Senior All-Star team in a ceremony held recently at Ledgeview Center inside Ledgeview Lanes.

The team was announced during the 26th Annual Fond du Lac Bowling Association Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet.

The criteria to make the Senior All-Star team are completely different than that used to select the regular all-star team.

Senior All-Stars achieve their team selection by being the highest-average bowler with the required 60 games, in their respective age categories.

They must reach that category’s age by the date of the All-Star team committee meeting in May of each year.

This is the 16th year the Fond du Lac Bowling Association has honored a Senior All-Star team.

The Senior All-Star team’s first year was in 1993. From 1993 through 1996 there was also a sixth category.

This was an honorary category to which members were selected for overall accomplishments, skills, and contributions to the FBA and the sport of bowling.

The five age categories that makeup the Senior All-Star team are as follows: (55 to 59), (60 to 64), (65 to 69), (70 to 74), and (75 and above).
